The central platform of the Beer Party is lowering the drinking age. A man or woman of age 18 is allowed to smoke, drive, and die for their country, but not allowed to enjoy responsible alcoholic consumption. When the laws were first passed to raise the drinking age they were done with good intentions. We all want to protect the children. The plan has failed. Twelve percent of the alcohol consumed in America is consumed by minors. The alcohol companies are making millions of dollars every year from the sale of alcohol to minors. The average American male takes his first drink at age 11. It is time to adopt a new plan, it is time to adopt the Beer Party Plan. In lowering the drinking age, I believe that we can convince every major alcohol manufacturer in the United States to contribute to our education system. We can't hide the alcohol form the children, and hope they don't find it. We have tried that, and it failed. If we want to impact the children, and keep them safe, first we must educate them. Choose the plan that will save lives. Choose the plan that will bring much needed funding to our public education system. Choose the Beer Party Plan.
